My name is Elena Ellazar.
My Clients & Specialty
I work with clients that have experienced, or are currently experiencing, change, trauma and/or grief. Grief comes in all forms, whether you lost someone or you feel a loss of something, whether the person you lost is still living or if the loss you feel is due to a change in situations, relationships, environments or age - grief can be destabilizing and confusing.
Trauma causes changes in the brain that can create ripple effects in every area of your life from your emotional reactivity, your relationships, your abilities, to your understanding of yourself and others. Trauma can impact who we are but therapy can impart resilience and growth on who we are going to be.
Grief and trauma can both feel all-encompassing and it can feel like it is easier to "check-out" or be "numb" but together we can learn to live again, feel fully and find yourself. Healing is always possible.
In my professional life,
I apply Person-Centered, Gestalt and Existentialist approaches in my therapy to empower, empathize, understand and respect you and help you find the path towards transformation.
Person-Centered
I hope to provide a compassionate & non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of criticism or judgment. I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to support and empower you on your unique journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I will listen to your story, empathize with your emotions, and respect your values and choices. Together, we will collaboratively work towards fostering greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a deeper understanding of your authentic self.
Gestalt Theory
I encourage clients to focus on their present experiences, embracing the here and now to explore and understand unresolved emotions and past patterns, aiming to integrate different aspects so they can feel more whole.
